Calling all High School Teens and College Students… What is youth group about… What do they do… When do they meet?

  We get together to pray, learn about scripture, complete service project, and support one another through every day scenarios. If you are interested in join our meetings or events, stay tuned and watch for bulletin inserts. We meet together on Tuesday evenings from 7:30-8:30pm. We begin our meetings in St. Joseph's Chapel and continue in Weber Hall. Please join us.
 

 High School - Growing Faith Education

Starting September 2nd 6:30-7:30, any interested students can sign up for the first of three eight-week study sessions that will be offered throughout this year. The first The Teen Timeline which will continue from Sept 2nd thru Oct 28.
T3: The Teen Timeline
- Teen Guide and Introduction to the Bible for High School Students
Reading the Bible might be a feat that you do not feel strong enough to handle?
From a broad perspective, T3: The Teen Timeline breaks the Bible into twelve memorable lessons, using a color-coded system of time periods that are brought to LIFE THROUGH STORIES. Snacks will be provided… Come for the food… but stay to feed the hunger to truly know Jesus Christ.
In order to truly KNOW Christ… we must read scripture and KNOW His Word. Begin your journey through the Bible, and make some lasting friendships along the way.
Starting SEPTEMBER 2nd... 6:30-7:30 in Weber Hall. If there is anyone who is interested in this program but their schedule conflicts with Tuesday evenings, we can begin a Bible Study on another night as well.
 Can I BE a WITNESS??
Yes you can! Steubenville 2008 was a wonderful trip filled with lots of prayers, fun, fellowship and expressions of faith. The students traveled to St. Paul, MN. August 1-4th! We returned on Monday, Aug 4th. Please pray for those students who attended the trip so that they can continue to be witnesses for their faith especially with school starting. It can be difficult not to fall back into the ways of the crowd, the combat these problems we need to strengthen our support. Attend youth group, bring friends, and allow those bonds to bring you the courage to WITNESS your faith in Christ. 
 

MEETINGS in SEPTEMBER

Youth Group meeting nights will be on TUESDAY evenings from 7:30-8:30. This will allow us the time that we need as well as the space to meet so that we do not interfere with PSR classes on Wednesday. Opening Wednesday nights for the Youth group will also allow us to be involved in special events and possibly getting involved with PSR classes.

Youth Group, Immaculate Heart of Mary continues to work together
to get teens involved and active in their faith.
Teens meet with Julie Lassiter to pray, discuss future plans and
 grow in faith. 

UPCOMING SERVICE OPPURTUNITIES

CONCESSIONS: IHM soccer games will begin September 6. Anyone interested in helping raise money for the Youth Group? We need your help. Here are the dates:
Sept. 6th, Sept. 20th, Oct 4th, Oct 18th, Nov 1, and Nov 2nd. Most of the dates we will have two shifts, 8:30-12:00, 12:00-3:30. Please let Julie Lassiter know if you are available for any of those dates.

CONCERT: Watching Judas concert in the St. Patrick Social Hall on Saturday, September 6th at 7:00 pm. The tickets are $5 each. All who are interested, please let Julie know. This would be a great way to support our neighboring parish.

Event and helpers are needed!  Steve Ray is coming to our parish and the youth group and teens are needed to help with the dinner. Sept. 19 Friday, 5:30-clean up.  It will be a great night to be there and you might even be chosen for Jeopardy… are you up for the challenge.

CAR SHOW: Also, the Knights of Columbus are sponsoring a Car Show here at IHM on Saturday, Sept. 21st and are in need of some help with music and some other activities.
